Tupperware brand storage containers are not biodegradable. “Bioplastics” or biodegradable plastics made from plant materials like corn resin do exist, however, and there may be some reusable, biodegradable, food storage containers readily available in the near future.
I was very surprised to find out that tupperware is biodegradable. Tupperware is made from a biodegradable oil. There is also a push for newer containers that differ from Tupperware that degrades more rapidly.
