Is tuna the most mercury-laced fish people eat?

No, the EPA advises against eating Shark, Swordfish, King Mackerel, or Tilefish entirely because they all contain high levels of mercury. The EPA recommends these low-mercury alternatives: shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock, and catfish. Albacore or “white” tuna is higher in Mercury and the EPA recommends it not be eaten as often as other varieties of tuna.
