    Yes.  Biodegradation is a process by which organic material is broken down by microorganisms and invertebrates. Any part or product of a plant is biodegradable, including sap.

    Generally yes.  Although in some environmental conditions, over a long time period, it is converted into amber.  Amber is a soft, petrified form of conifer sap that is often used to make jewelry in eastern Europe.  It is particularly prevalent on the beaches of the Baltic sea.
