Is Toyota really going to have to put millions of floor mats in landfills?

According to the information that I found, the problem might not be in the floor mats that Toyota is recalling. Toyota has recalled 5.3 million cars because of “faulty floor mats” that are making the accelerator pedal stick. 5.3 million cars equals over 10 million floor mats; hopefully the government concerns themselves with the real cause of the accidents and deaths caused by the Toyota cars. I believe they should keep the floor mats, and either modify them or recycle them into new floor mats. Let’s hope they fix the cars REAL problem instead of blaming it on a floor mat that has been around for decades.
