There may be a place in your town that recycles aerosol cans. I’m pretty sure that a standard recycling plant wouldn’t do it because they have to be completely empties prior to recycling, and there are machines that do that. Look it up in the phone book.
Yes, just make sure that the can is empty before recycling it. You can use your curbside recycling service (if it is accepted), or you can use earth911.com to find a local recycling center that will accept aerosol cans (simply type in “aerosol cans” along with your zip code).
