The simplest way to prevent lactic acid buildup is to work out more. Lactic acid is produced when your muscles are working excessively hard. Gradually increasing your workouts and intensity will help your muscles become more accustomed to the exercise and will need to produce less lactic acid as a result. There really isn’t any quick-fix way to resolving the burn and pain of strenuous work.
Stretching. Loosening your muscles after and before exercise will help prevent lactic acid from building up and making you tense in the morning. Over time as you get more conditioned, lactic acid buildup should become less of a problem.
Eat bananas! Potassium is a great way to fight lactic acid buildup, and is very effective.
