Is there a way to physically see your carbon footprint?

    If you live in the U.S. visualize a large elephant. Carbon Footprint says the average U.S. citizen’s carbon footprint is equal to 16,000 pounds or 8 tons a year. That’s the size of a large elephant.

    To determine your footprint, use a carbon footprint calculator like that at The site allows you to calculate your carbon footprint based on country, region and individual usage. It also allows you to calculate a business’ carbon footprint if you have the requested information. Other sites also have carbon calculators, including the EPA and the nature conservancy.
