Actually, it’s better, both for you and for the hen, to lay smaller eggs. Large ones can be watery and less nutritional, and they can cause the hen quite a lot of pain. If she’s recently started laying, there’s a chance her egg size will increase too. If not, don’t worry–that just means the hen is laying whatever is healthiest for her.
