Is there a type of light that will grow plants faster than sunlight?

The answer to this question may depend on what type of plat you are inquiring about. Many plants do better with a combination of both natural and artificial light so instead of relying on artificial light, try to aim for 14 hours of light and 10 hours of dark. You can do this with a simple small reading lamp! If you really want to get serious, use red light for maturation, and flower and seed development and production and use blue light for leaf development (thick stems and few flowers). You can also use fluorescent lights for most houseplants with the trick of a mirror underneath the plant for optimal growth and productivity!
