As far is real ivory goes, the only way to get it is from animals. However, there is vegetable ivory that is made from tagua nuts. It is used to make jewelry called Muichic Jewelry, which is a great alternative to using real ivory. It is completely sustainable and doesn’t require obtaining the ivory from animals. There are also other types of plants that provide vegetable ivory and include the ivory-nut palms and hyphaene nut palms.
