Is there such thing as a two-headed snake or is that just a birth defect?

Two headed snakes do exist, but not as a breed.  Their occurence is similar to conjoined or “siamese” twins.  A developing embryo begins to split into two identical twins, but stops midsplit.  Two headed snakes often have a tough time surviving in the wild, but have done well in captivity.
