In addition to the dwarf crocodile, which is an endangered fresh-water crocodile usually around 1.20 meters in length native to West Africa, there is a lizard called the pygmy alligator lizard found in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  It is the smallest known species of anguid lizard and only grows to between 2.1 and 2.85 inches in length.
