Is there scientific proof that the African plover feeds on the food stuck in the crocodile’s teeth?

    It doesn’t seem to be a regular event, at any rate! The picture that’s readily available searching Google for “plover crocodile” is called a fake by zoologist Adam Britton, who specializes in crocodiles.

    The ancient Greek who mentioned crocs may have gotten them confused with hippos having their teeth cleaned by other animals — which clearly does happen. (Search on “hippo tooth cleaning”)

    I dont think they do, and the reason why is i looked it up and it doesnt show any scientific proof whatsoever. Honestly i wish they did because if that were true they would have the title of number one most freaky eater in the history of birds. so cool right.
