Is there a place in the water cycle that we shouldn’t be taking water from?

In all elements of the water cycle, water use should be limited so as to have the most minimal impact. It is dangerous for an environment to use up all the groundwater, or to harness all the runoff from mountains.

However, where the least impact is felt is probably from rainwater catchment systems.
