Is there a PH level that is not safe for humans to drink?

Pure water has a pH level of 7 (neutral). The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5 and for groundwater systems 6 to 8.5. Water becomes softer as it becomes more acidic, and harder when it becomes more basic.

Although drinking water with a pH level between 6 and 8.5 is ideal, the human body naturally maintains pH equilibrium and can withstand levels above and below this range.
