Is there more water in the atmosphere than there is on earth?

    No, there is more water in the earth’s oceans and other water bodies than in the atmosphere.  The atmosphere moves water vapor around the earth until precipitation occurs, and it falls back down to earth.  Only about 2 – 4% of atmospheric molecules in the atmosphere are water molecules.  Condensation inevitably occurs when the percentage amount reaches 4%.
