There is more “liquid” water today than 500 years ago, since much of the ice caps have melted, thus adding more water to the earth’s surface. However, that water has always been there, just in a different form. So, in the grand scheme, there is abotu the same amount of water now, since it goes through many cycles and is always reused and comes back to where it started.
