The main problem with silverfish is their diet. Silverfish tend to feed on a wide variety of items, including cereals, wall paper paste, paper products, and fabric. If you have silver fish in your house, you’re likely to discover little holes chewed out of your clothing, curtains, wall paper, food storage containers, books and other paper products. Silverfish may also leave their skins and excrement laying around your house, which is not exactly pleasant, and they can leave a yellowish stain on your clothing. Overall, they’re not exactly dangerous, but they are certainly inconvenient, so it’s best to keep them out.
