As always, your options are basically to lobby your congresspeople (both national and state) for a ban on hydraulic fracturing, which is a very destructive way of extracting natural gas. As very few people have heard of fracking, organizing some sort of educational session to inform your fellow citizens of it or writing a letter to the ediro about it would probably also be a good idea.
Be aware that hydraulic fracturing is necessary to efficiently get natural gas out of many newly exploited tight shale gas formations; so the trade-off to ending the practice is that you will have less natural gas to heat your homes and generate electricity, and what remains available will cost more.
