Is there anything that wind turbines can do to de-ice themselves like planes do?

Scientists are experimenting with what are called “Superhydrophobic Coatings” (notice the creative etymology: “really afraid of water”) to reduce drag on wind turbines from ice.  They work by allowing water to actually bounce off of a surface, instead of splashing.  Check out the citation here for a cool video of water bouncing off of a superhydrophobic surface!
