Yes. Dubai is currently home to the Vertical Village project, which is completely covered in solar panels to provide to the “village”. They are also building a rotating skyscraper with built in wind turbines to help harness wind energy.
In 2008 Dubai implemented the highest suitable standard for the country to maintain healthy city that follows the worldwide benchmarks in sustainability. This had a big boost on ecofriendly construction. Since than standards have been set to make buildings more energy, water and material efficiency. According to the US Green Building’s Council green buildings on average save 70% of electricity and 50% of water.
