Professor Willett Kempton of the University of Delaware has been working on establishing a Vehicle to Grid technology (V2G) that would enable electric cars to plug into established stations when not an use and feed unused energy back to the grid. Kempton has been negotiating with the US Postal Service to make local post offices powering stations. Doing so would create a national network of charging stations, making it easier to drive electric cars from town to town and state to state. This also could bring new purpose to the ailing postal system.
