There is no longer any serious scientific debate over the question of whether the current climate change the planet is experiencing is human-caused or not. Over the last few hundred years, humankind has been emitting unprecedented levels of gases known to trap heat inside the atmosphere. The global concentration of one such gas, CO2, in our atmosphere today far exceeds the natural range over the last 650,000 years. We have evidence suggesting that temperatures are rising at the same sort of unprecedented rates. Seven of the eight warmest years on record have occurred since 2001 and the 10 warmest years have all occurred since 1995.
