Is there any way to translate brain waves into an image?

There are researchers currently attempting to translate brain waves into images. Scientists at Berkeley have been working on a mathematical algorithm that captures properties from the visual part of the brain and can be applied to previously unseen objects. They have been using volunteers to look at images; when they looked at 120 basic images, the computer interpreted them correctly 92% of the time. When the sample was increased to 1000 images, the computer’s accuracy decreased to 80%. This is nowhere near perfected, however in the future we may have a new way to “sketch” what a witness saw during a crime; or even to interpret dreams someday.
