The Apple iPod is greener than older portables like CD or cassette players, since music is in the MP3 format and not a physical (landfill-ready) CD or cassette tape. Although CDs are now recyclable. Apple was rated “silver” by the EPA for its company’s environmental practices, getting 17 points out of 23. But to be even more green, you should use your iPod for as long as possible (don’t keep buying newer models) and consider some green accessories, 2nd link below (although going without them would be the most green, “reduce” is before “reuse” after all!)
