Is there any semblance in regards to the cost to rehab an old building (50+ years) to meet LEED certified standards?

I found an article that states that their particular renovation cost was at 84$ a square foot; It should be noted that the cost depends entirely on the size of the building and largely on its intended use. The age should not be particularly relevant to LEED certification, as long as the building is in an acceptable stat of repair.
