Yes, there are several fuels that run cars. One obvious one is ethanol. There are many cars in the US that are flex meaning that they run on gasoline, or ethanol, or any combination of the two. Another fuel is natural gas. Some cars can run on natural gas or gasoline, and some even on ethanol as a third option. In Brazil, they have an abundance of ethanol due in part to the sugarcane industry. There, almost all cars are flex, and have been for several years.
