Both the American Red Cross (http://www.redcross.org) and the Salvation Army (http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/www_usn_2.nsf/vw-text-dynamic-arrays/3C5471700B61E262802573DF0063B7C8?openDocument) help out when natural disasters occur. For disasters in foreign countries, USAID coordinates with a number of non-profits : http://www.usaid.gov/our_work/cross-cutting_programs/private_voluntary_cooperation/pub.html.

The American Red Cross is an organization that provides relief when disaster occurs (as well as in blood drives and homeless shelters), which you could donate by phone (1-800 red cross), text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10, or donate by mail or online at http://www.redcross.org
