Is there any federal legislation underway that will regulate endocrine disruptors (such as BPA) in our household products and the environment?

BPA is used in plastic containers to harden the plastic, but it has been linked to cancer. In July of 2009 the US House passed in the Food Safety and Enhancement Act of 2009, that the FDA had to determine by December 31, 2009 whether BPA was toxic and if they couldn’t prove it was nontoxic, then they would have to restrict it. The senate of Vermont passed a bill restricting BPA in food and beverage products today 4/6/10.
