Is there any chance that drilling for a geothermal power plant could lead to increased volcanic activity?

Despite the occasional controversy that breaks out about this issue, such as when tremors were felt in the Philippines earlier this year shortly after geothermal drilling was conducted, scientists haven’t shown conclusively that drilling causes increased seismic activity, or the sort of geological movements that might trigger a volcanic eruption. Some have even tried to drill directly into the active parts of the volcano, such as the conduit at Unzen or the flanks of Kilauea/Mauna Loa. These drilling programs didn’t have any effect on the eruptive activity at the two volcanoes.
