Chicza Mayan Rainforest Chewing Gum is biodegradable. Once the gum is disposed of, the all-natural components turn into dust within weeks. The gum is made out of a combination of chicle and hot waxes that become a gum base and is sweetened with organic sweeteners (like agave syrup) and natural flavors.
Although Chicza has already succeeded in making biodegradable chewing gum, Wrigley’s has also been investing into research for creating biodegradable chewing gum too. This has been going on since 1988 so it is hard to say when or if it will happen. There have been no new consumer testings of gum by Wrigley’s.
