It looks like aluminum cans are recycled to be…aluminum cans. According to Recycle More, a UK based recycling site, aluminum cans are melted down into “ingots” of aluminum and then manufactured into more cans. This is called a closed-circle process because cans are recycled to make more cans! This seems to embody what recycling should be about! But, if the cans are melted down, they may be made into foil in some countries or by some plants.
