If you are refering to rock salt texturing that is used for concrete, it is a term that is used to describe a particular decorative finish that includes pits or holes in the surface. Rock salt finishes usually give a smooth concrete finish (Cement Concretes & Aggregates Austraila, 2008).
Rocksalt is grainy and rough.
Rock Salt, or Halite as it is called among Geologists, has a crystalline structure that tends to make it form square pieces. Rock salt may have an irregular shape, but if you look closely at it with a magnifying glass, you will see lots of 90 degree angles around the edges.
