In terms of single family homes, is high or low density better for the environment?

Hmm, interesting question. Typically, higher density is better for urban purposes. Single family suburban homes would typically be a low density comparatively anyway, provided they are individual units with their own lots. The best thing for the environment would be creating multi-family homes that are relatively the size of a single family home. Even though I live in one, single family homes are about the worst type of housing for the environment, period.
