Hydrogenous usually means that the substance contains hydrogen, or it can be also used to describe something that has the properties of hyrdogen. However, based on your other questions I am assuming that you are talking about hydrogenous sediments. These are sediments that precipitate directly from sea water, and don’t require originally being part of something else. Basically, some element would be introduced into the water, which reacts with something else which would produce some sort of precipitant that then falls to the bottom of the ocean as sediment. The most common type of this sediment is a manganese nodule.
