Teaching can certainly be a green profession. Those who teach have an enormous and great responsibility to influence the future well-being of our world by educating others to the importance of pursuing green initiatives. Without the influence of teachers able to spread the message of sustainability, efforts to continue the trend of moving towards sustainability will cease. An individual can only do so much by him or her self, but by educating others, teachers have the potential to accomplish great things on a much larger scale through the actions of those they have influenced.
If the teaching involves an emphasis on the environment, pollution, climate change, sustainability, or anything related, then I’d say yes it is a green profession. The first step to fixing problems is knowing what those problems are and identifying possible solutions. Teachers are instrumental in passing this knowledge on to future generations.
