According to Yale University’s Environmental Performance Index, Switzerland number one of the top ten most eco-friendly countries, right in front of Norway. Their three main environmental tenets include cooperation between organizations and individuals, individual awareness and prevention.
There are many factors contributing to Switzerland’s green superiority. One is its tough stance on pollution and its costliness for residents.Fees are charged for water and waste management and every garbage bag that is disposed costs 1 euro. Switzerland also has extensive train services and is extremely bike-friendly helping to cut down on pollutants that would otherwise be given off by cars. The designs of the many hotels in Switzerland also tend to be green, like the pods of the Whitepod Resort which are heated by wooden stoves.
