No. Actually, the summer Olympics easily have the most environmental impact of any sporting event. Thousands of athletes must travel by airplane, a big source of carbon emissions. Usually, stadiums and tracks must be constructed, also environmentally devastating. The sheer size of the Olympics, many many times the size of the Superbowl (or any other sporting event), ensures its place in the Environmental Hall of Shame.
