Is sunlight or water more important to plant life?

Both sunlight and water are essential to the survival of plants. However, a plant without any sort of access to water can die within 1-2 days. In this case, it is important to take note of the fact that different plants adapt to different kinds of environments. For example, some house plants can survive without direct sunlight for as long as they are being watered. On the other hand, some may argue that plants like cacti can survive without water… The truth is succulent plants like cacti still thrive on water. These types of pants have very “adept water-absorbing features and quickly store any surrounding water deep in their tissues for later use.” This water can even come from water vapor if necessary. In conclusion, water has a slight advantage over sunlight in this case.
