    Yes, Styrofoam is bad for the environment due to the material it’s made out of: polystyrene (used to make plastics, resins, and rubber). Polystyrene has been said to be a carcinogen and can cause the following effects in humans: skin irritation, eye irritation, upper respiratory tract irritation, and gastrointestinal problems. Chronic exposure can lead to depression, headache, fatigue, and weakness.

    The process of making Styrofoam releases 57 chemical by-products, which creates air pollution and hazardous waste.
