This depends on the context, such as when you are cooking and what. Certain metals might be better for certain things… For example, stainless can be relatively cheap, which means it would meet my needs. However, it is actually a poor conductor of heat, and many stainless pans/pots actually contain a copper layer to assist in conductance. Copper pots are often cited as the best, due to their conductivity, but they can be quite expensive.
Similarly, cast iron pots are ideal for searing… Unfortunately, you really need to evaluate your needs to decide which pot is the best.
