You cannot say one is greener than another because they are inextricably linked. For example, South America produces an enormous amount of food in unsustainable ways, and North America buys it.
In the most concrete sense, though, South America emits less CO2 than North America.
The data is slightly conflicting. The map in the first source shows north america emitting an enormous amount more than South America, and in the second map NA does only slightly better.
But I think it is safe to assume that South America pollutes much less than North America.
