Skydiving is only bad for the environment in that the planes used to take the skydivers into the air consume fossil fuels, however skydiving itself is no more harmful than using any other day to day products (synthetics such as nylon, or woven materials such as cotton), since the equipment for skydiving is produced with machines that use fossil fuels like most other forms of commercial production.
As a sport, it’s no more harmful than most others; that is, until you consider the amount of fuel used to power the aircraft that lifts you to the high altitude necessary for skydiving. Eco conscious adrenaline junkies may consider BASE jumping as an alternative.
