They’ve been called out by environmental and indigenous rights groups for funding the palm oil industry, which has had the effect to causing them to review their policies to make sure they are promoting businesses who are more environmentally-friendly, but it doesn’t seem like it’s getting much widespread media attention. This isn’t that surprising, though, considering that the World Bank has gotten its share of criticism before from groups in developing nations over the years, but so far hasn’t been subject to any kind of reprisals.
