Well, the answer depends on your perspective of the situation. My perspective is that we, as a nation, consume too much meat. I think we shoud cut down on this consumption rather than look to find more efficient ways to feed livestock and keep consuming meat at the same rate. Developing GMO grain to feed livestock will just continue the cycle of maximizing the amount of meat we can produce and then eat…and GMO crops have their own issues–they cause lots of issues for small farmers whose crops may accidentally become cross-pollinated with them! If the rate of meat consumption decreased in this country, we wouldn’t need to constantly look for new ways to feed our livestock and maintain a high-output of meat production.
