Should we raise beefalo for meat?

In general, cattle agriculture is terrible for the environment (A domestic cow raised for beef represents a net loss of energy because about five pounds of grain are fed to it for every pound of beef it provides). Beefalo, the hybrid offspring of cattle and bison, are no better in this regard. Also, crosses between domestic cattle and wild buffalo is resulting in the decline of pure wild bison populations. So, promoting the development of beefalo is not a “green” move.
