Should there be a nation-wide boycott of stores that don’t use more sustainable practices?

I don’t think a nation-wide boycott of stores is practical or largely possible. What you do see, however, are little pockets of people who refuse to patronize businesses that go against their value. Consumers are free to make their own choices and despite many people’s disapproval of McDonald’s or Walmart, their profits continue to grow. A nation-wide boycott is far too hopeful, but if grassroots campaigns continue to grow then ultimately, businesses will have to cater to these groups and hopefully change their practices.
