Should I replace my old light bulbs with CFL’s before the old ones go bad?

You could replace them all, but then you’d have a bunch of incandescent bulbs lying around. Some people throw them away, but then perfectly good light bulbs sit in a landfill. I would recommend replacing half of your bulbs with compact fluorescents. This way, you save energy and help the environment more than you were before, and when your incandescents burn out, replace them with your saved incandescents until they are gone. Another option is to donate them to homeless shelters or other charities.
