Should the government allow federal game reserves to kill mountain lions?

Depends on the area and the behavior of the mountain lion. Most human-wildlife interaction can be avoided, but some animals become unstable or sick and need to be removed. However, out and out killing of mountain lions and other large predators should be limited. Studies have shown they do contribute to the ecosystems in which they live and humans need to limit the amount of impact we are having by removing those predators.

Although some would argue that predator control is necessary with mountain lions as in the second citation.
