Your hair’s health depends on many factors. Some of those factors include; what kind of cleanser you are using (are they naturally or chemically derived), how often you shampoo (shampooing everyday dries out your hair and scalp), if you blow dry, your diet, and if you chemically treat you hair (do you add highlights or dye your hair). Recommendations on how often to cut your hair varies on the style you want, short hair tends to be cut more often to be kept short, while longer hair may needs to be trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks to avoid split ends.
I’m not sure about health, but short hair is greener because you don’t use as much shampoo/conditioner, it doesnt take as much time/hot water to wash, and if its short enough you don’t need a blowdryer, straigtening iron, curling iron etc, which all use energy.
